Hideaway Fiji is a Fiji travel guide site started in 2024 by Lucy Cameron — Auckland-based travel writer, NAUI Advanced Open Water diver, and longtime Fiji visitor.
After fifteen visits across eight years, Lucy got tired of generic Fiji content that sounded like it was written from a desk in another hemisphere. Hideaway Fiji is the antidote: practical, opinionated, written from a beach somewhere between Nadi and Taveuni.
What We Cover
- Islands: the Mamanucas, the Yasawas, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, the Coral Coast, Taveuni, Beqa, and the harder-to-reach hideaways
- Resorts: honest reviews across the budget spectrum — backpacker dorms to overwater bures
- Activities: snorkelling, diving, surfing, kava ceremonies, hiking, the lot
- Planning: the best time to visit, what to pack, currency tips, the actual ferry timetables
- Honeymoon, family and budget guides: for the three trip styles we get asked about most
How We Work
Articles are written by Lucy from personal experience, then fact-checked against official sources (Fiji Tourism Board, Ministry of Civil Aviation, NAUI/PADI dive operators). We do not accept free stays in exchange for positive reviews. When we earn an affiliate commission on a booking link, we say so in our disclaimer.
